Belgium

Belgian Press
In 2004, the Royal Library of Belgium, in conjunction with the Center for Historical Research and Documentation on War and Contemporary Society, launched this digital collection of Belgian newspapers collected from federal centers. The total number of pages is expected to reach three million, from over 30 separate titles, spanning the period from 1831 to 1950. Titles include: L'Indépendance Belge, L'Avenir du Luxembourg, and Almanach d'Uylenspiegel.

Bermuda

An international collaborative project funded by the National Institute of Korean History, this digital collection contains two prominent Toronto Korean-language titles: The Minjoong Shinmoon (Jan. 1982; Jan. 1989-Mar. 1993) and The New Korea Times (May 1982-May 2003).

Apabi offers a variety of full text eBooks and databases. Its full-text, full-image newspaper database covers more than 300 current newspapers on a cross-searchable platform. The majority of news content covers August 2007 forward, though some content reaches back further (ex. Zhejiang Daily, Hangzhou Daily).

China Core Newspapers Database (CCND)
Part of the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) set of databases, this online full-text database covers over 700 newspapers published in mainland China since 2000. Content is added daily, approximately one week behind publication. Index searching free, full-text access by subscription.

Electronic Index to the Early Shenbao (1872-1898)
This online-index of articles from the Shanghai daily Shen bao (1872-1949) covers the years from the paper's foundation in April 1872 to the end of the year 1898, and provides keyword access to more than 11,000 entries.

The National Index to Chinese Newspapers & Periodicals (NICNP)
This effort, led by the Shanghai Library, contains more than 30 million entries from around 18,000 periodical and newspaper titles. Nearly 3.5 million article entries are added each year. Shanghai Library provides access to articles on demand.

Since 1946, "the official voice of the central government of the People's Republic of China."

People's Liberation Army (PLA) Daily (Jie fang jun bao) $
The official newspaper of the military of the People's Republic of China. The role of the PLA during the cultural revolution makes this title a valuable research resource. The database offers full-text searching of retrospective content, complete from the first issue in 1956 to the present. The database presently contains more than 450,000 articles as text-only; full image digital content will be available in the future.

Sin Kok Min Jit Pao
The Sin Kuo Min Press, later titled Sin Kok Min Jit Pao, began on October 1, 1919. It was a continuation of the Kok Min Jit Pao, which had been founded in 1914 and ceased publication on 6 August 1919. The publisher moved to Kuala Lumpur in 1941 and the paper ceased publication later in the same year. Digitized images are from 1919 through 1933, and are part of a project by the National University of Singapore Library.

Chijie ribao [World Daily fulltext search]
The World Daily fulltext search site, available from Shih Hsin University in Taiwan, offers access to limited runs of Shijie ribao, a Chinese language daily founded in Beijing in 1925. The database contains searchable news articles between 1926 and 1929, with limited page image accessibility (the image files are named using Big5 characters, making the links inaccessible to western machines).

Taiwan Baseball News Archives
This project cooperated with the United Daily News Group in Taiwan to create a digital library of newspaper-clippings, texts, illustration, pictures, photos and other materials. The site includes 20,000 news pieces and 800 photos.
